recycling and sustainability
Our policy is to recycle as much as we can and conserve resources in all areas of our business. We recycle office papers, soda bottles and cans, as well as toner cartridges and other materials that can be reused. In our prepress department we recycle all scrap paper and have invested in technology that reduces chemical use and waste. Our Kodak Platesetter runs process-less plates thereby reducing VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) in our plant. And by eliminating the chemicals used in traditional plate processing we also eliminate the storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
Our pressroom conserves materials by reusing stocks for make-ready and other efficiency processes developed in conjunction with Komori and Ryobi - our press suppliers. All waste paper that is produced in the pressroom and bindery is binned and sent back through a paper waste house for use as post consumer waste scrap - a component of many of the printing papers manufactured today. Our corrugated box waste, metal plates are recycled in the same way.
